Left uncontrolled, aquatic plants such as duckweed can upset your pond's natural ecosystem, affecting wildlife nesting and fish populations and making your pond unsightly. Weeds and algae can also ruin your recreational use for fishing, swimming and boating.Sonar controls unwanted aquatic vegetation by restricting the plants' ability to make food, causing them to die. This involves inhibiting development of yellow pigments that protect a plant's chlorophyll from decomposition by sunlight.
